S13 Throttle To The Floor But No Power
When the car is running the throttle does not react at all.
S13 throttle to the floor but no power. The throttle valve should open and close once when you turn the vehicle to on. It only moved forward at idle speed. A closed egr valve does not affect the power. If the fuel pump relay is not clicking on then remove the relay and see if there is power to the relay base.
When the car isn t running the throttle reacts to the gas pedal. Cel light is on as well. I shut it off and stared it again and the problem was gone. If the throttle valve does not move then it is likely dead.
Two days later i drove to pick up a pizza and when i came out it did it again. If there is power to the relay base then the relay needs replaced. Engine starts no response to gas pedal. It only affects the engine acceleration if it causes the engine control unit ecu to place the car in a limp mode.
Upon inspection i find that the car idles but that the pedal does not actuate the throttle. This sensor sends a reference voltage to your power train control module which uses that to determine ignition timing and fuel trims. A quick check to see if it is indeed the actuator you can remove the intake tube right at the throttle body and and turn the vehicle to on without starting vehicle. Forum research suggests i look for a po120 code which i validated with an obd tool and provides a very simple reset.
By that i mean i used a mirror and can see the butterfly open and close in sync with the pedal actions. If the power train control module is not detecting the proper signal from the throttle position sensor the engine may not accelerate. When the throttle is closed in the event of idling or when your foot is off the gas the engine vacuum is maximum. Wife reports in that there is no gas getting to engine.
Tried the throttle relearn procedure and no difference. If there is no power to the base then check the fuse to the fuel pump.
